It is one of the best things I’ve done I have never been on a “retreat” thus I did not know what to expect. I must say it is one of the best things I have done. The idea of combining history with the inner journey is brilliant. Tariks way of explaining history is very inspiring. I have been studying al-Andalus for some time and it was just wonderful. The expertise of Asma combined with her understanding of the human condition and her loving presence allowed one to delve into oneself in a very safe space. Sidi Amjad was such an inspiration for all. Plus he is very accessible which I think is very important. Then there was the group! We created such a bond of love and support between us, it was great. I would highly recommend this “Journey”!

Maristan began as a vision of Asma Ali, it’s founder. While practicing psychotherapy in 2014, she realized that many individuals need a safe place of healing to go to where they can receive professional care and support and build a sense of community, which she believes is essential to healing. She believed a wellness centre would serve this purpose and called the vision Maristan because it represented her vision.
